Krishna Kuya is the founder of DarkGreen Adventures, a Mumbai-based travel company established in 2014 with a vision to create meaningful, experience-driven journeys for travellers seeking more than conventional package tours. Holding an M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Krishna left his corporate career to pursue his passion for exploration and has since spent over a decade helping people discover India and the world through carefully curated small-group adventures.
With over 15 years of travel and trekking experience, Krishna has personally led more than 400 treks across the Sahyadri mountain range and over 100 domestic and international group tours. His leadership style combines meticulous planning, flexibility on the ground, and a strong focus on creating memorable experiences for every traveller. Many participants, especially solo and women travellers, value the friendly and supportive environment that he fosters during every journey.
Krishna has explored 21 countries across Asia, Europe and Africa, including Norway, Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Egypt, South Africa, Greece, Bhutan, Mauritius, Seychelles and several other destinations. Every international itinerary offered by DarkGreen Adventures is personally researched and refined through on-ground experience rather than being adapted from standard tour packages.
He has successfully completed both the Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC) and Advanced Mountaineering Course (AMC), strengthening his expertise in outdoor leadership, mountain safety, expedition planning and risk management. His key areas of expertise include offbeat international travel, solo and women-friendly group tours, adventure tourism, expedition planning, itinerary design, sustainable travel, trekking, and experiential travel.
Krishna is particularly known for designing unique itineraries that blend iconic attractions with hidden gems, allowing travellers to experience destinations like a local rather than as conventional tourists. Beyond leading tours, Krishna actively researches emerging travel trends, AI-driven travel discovery, and destination planning to ensure that DarkGreen Adventures continues to offer authentic, thoughtfully curated experiences.
His philosophy is simple: travel should inspire curiosity, build lasting friendships, and create stories that remain long after the journey ends.
